Mandy Haggith

Into the Forest launch

Added on 17 October 2013

Mandy's anthology of tree poetry will be published in November 2013 by Saraband, just in time for Christmas. There are lots of launch events planned, beginning with a special tree-planting of the species of the Gaelic tree alphabet, on 22 November, at Little Assynt.

The Edinburgh launch will be on 28 November at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, at 6.30pm, including readings of their tree poems from all four of the poets in residence at the four Royal Botanic Gardens: Mandy plus Sue Butler, Jean Atkin and Gerry Loose.

There will be a tree poetry and photography show at Findhorn on Sunday 8 December, hosted by Trees for Life. The anthology is published in aid of Trees for Life with Mandy's royalties being donated to the charity to support the regeneration of native woodlands.

Other related events include:

25 November, Wick Library, a special children's event with the winners of the Poet-tree competition.

26 November, Waterstones bookshop, Inverness, poetry reading

27 November, Nairn Bookshop, poetry reading

30 November, Glencanisp Lodge, Lochinver, poetry reading

Please come along to one of these if you can, and buy someone a really special Christmas gift!
